After 8 years we bid a very fond farewell to our amazing Extended Access (EA) team.

We want to thank everyone in EA for the incredible work they’ve done since 2015, often going above and beyond to provide a service that doesn’t just meet but exceeds the needs of their patients.

The service, formerly known as Improving Access (IA), was launched in 2014 as part of the EPiC project in Brighton & Hove with 12 practices taking part to increase patient access.

One of the key findings from these early tests was discovering the need for a service to provide primary care outside of the 9-5.

Since then we are proud to have created and built this service in partnership with Primary Care, providing care to those who would otherwise struggle to access it as well as offering specialist services – such as women’s health.

It’s an honour to pass it over to the Brighton and Hove Federation who will lead it onto new strengths – addressing health equity across the city.

Helen Curr, Here CEO:

‘The IA (EA) team have been such an incredibly hardworking bunch, bringing exceptional care to life every day. I know you will bring that care and quality to all the roles and places you go on to. You have formed such a special part of the Here story.’

Thank you for everything EA.
