“The future of healthcare is about working together to find new solutions to old problems. Social enterprises such as Here are perfectly placed to build new and exciting partnerships with the NHS and beyond to improve health and care for those we serve.”

It’s with great excitement to announce that this month we appointed three new non-executive directors, Mo Kanjilal, Annika Small and Rich Taunt. We will introduce them all very soon, but first, let’s say hello to Rich. Rich will be our Lead Non-Executive Director, and will chair the Here Board.

Here is an incredibly special organisation. I’m delighted and honoured to get a chance to work with an organisation which puts its values at the heart of how it runs. I’m very much looking forward to getting to know an incredibly talented group of colleagues, and making a humble contribution as Here moves to the next stage of its journey.”

Bringing People Together

Rich has worked within the healthcare sector for many years and is part of the social enterprise Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope is all about bringing people together to improve health and care – which is a mission that complements and is strongly aligned with the Here vision for health and social care.

Helen Curr, Here’s CEO said “We are delighted to be welcoming Rich and his wealth of experience and fresh perspectives to the Here team. We have no doubt of the enormous contribution he will make on our journey to creating health for our communities.”

“You can see them from space”

Rich set up Kaleidoscope in 2016, and has helped a wide range of providers, commissioners, systems, charities, and national bodies have better relationships inside and out of their organisations.

Prior to that, Rich held a range of roles across national health organisations. This included as Director of the UK Improvement Alliance, Director of Policy at the Health Foundation, and Head of Regulatory Change at the Care Quality Commission. Rich was also Deputy Director at the Department of Health, where his roles included advising on ‘reorganisations so big you can see them from space’. He also spent time at the Cabinet Office and HM Treasury.

Rich is passionate about a lot of things but particularly improving how organisations work, and getting people to talk with each other.
